Wajeeha Khan Consultancy
Privacy Policy
This notice explains how we use personal information under UK data protection law when you enquire, request an audit, use our quiz or sign up for a workshop.
Who we are
Wajeeha Khan Consultancy is a marketing consultancy based in Milton Keynes. Wajeeha Khan is responsible for the personal information we handle (the data controller). Contact us at wajeehakhanconsultancy@gmail.com or 07709 915662.
What we collect and where it comes from
We collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, business details, enquiry messages, audit requests and workshop registration details. The quiz asks for a first name and email address to unlock results and sign up for email tips. Quiz answers are used in your browser to generate your result. We may receive registration information from the booking platform you use. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Why we use it and our lawful bases
- Enquiries and free audits: to reply, understand your needs and arrange a conversation. Our legitimate interest is responding to people who contact us and running our consultancy. Where you ask us to take steps towards a service contract, we rely on those pre-contract steps instead.
- Services and workshop bookings: to arrange and deliver what you request, communicate practical details and manage the booking. We rely on performing a contract or taking steps at your request before a contract. For free event administration without a contract, our legitimate interest is organising the event and communicating with attendees.
- Quiz subscriptions and email tips: where you sign up to receive marketing emails, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw it using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful use.
- Business records: to meet applicable accounting and other legal requirements, we rely on legal obligation. Our legitimate interests also include keeping necessary records to handle questions, complaints and disputes.
We consider your rights when relying on legitimate interests. You can object to that use. Providing enquiry or booking information is your choice, but we may be unable to respond or arrange the requested service without the necessary contact details.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and audit information while handling your request and any relevant follow-up, then delete information we no longer need. Workshop information is kept while organising the event and dealing with related questions. Client and financial records are kept for the applicable legal record-keeping period and while reasonably needed for outstanding contractual matters or disputes. Email subscription information is kept while you remain subscribed; after you opt out, we may retain a minimal suppression record to avoid contacting you again. Retention depends on the purpose, legal requirements and any unresolved matter; you can contact us for details about your information.
Who we share it with
We use service providers where needed, including Gmail for email, MailerLite for quiz subscriptions and email delivery, and Eventbrite for workshop bookings, together with website hosting and booking tools. Relevant team members or service partners may receive information needed to fulfil your request. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to obtain professional advice. We do not sell your personal information.
Some providers process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer takes place, UK data protection law requires an appropriate safeguard, such as a recognised adequacy arrangement or approved contractual protections. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, receive a portable copy, or object to processing. You can always object to direct marketing and withdraw marketing consent. Some rights have legal exceptions, including when we must retain records. Contact us using the details above; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
Website and external services
Our hosting and communication providers may process technical information, such as an IP address, to deliver and secure their services. Following links to Eventbrite, social networks, WhatsApp or other external services also brings their own privacy notices into effect. The quiz result is a marketing self-assessment; it is not used to make a decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Questions or complaints
Please contact us if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk.
